It was like wandering through the Swamp of Sadness in The Neverending Story – I could barely find the energy and desire to make it to the second story. Too much mythology, not enough story. At the end, it seemed to me that Ugresic felt that she had to explain the meaning behind her first two stories, or else no one would be able to understand them.
